This brings to mind how Terry got cut at the hospital which is where it’s implied the shapeshifter got his DNA. He decides to go into the barn himself in the middle of the night, and he’s attacked by something offscreen that leaves a rash-like wound on the back of his neck.

Jack shows up to the crime scene hours after it’s been cleaned up because he’s drunk. The beginning of the episode picks up where the last one left off: the clothes that Terry's clone was wearing are found in a barn covered in a mysterious ooze. This story definitely seems like it would work much better for a TV series than a movie, so I'm glad that they are going that route. There are three main pieces of evidence presented in episode 3 of The Outsider that hints toward the fact that a duplicate of Jack or Jack himself is going to be the next killer in the series. I haven't read the book yet but it certainly sounds intriguing! I'm hoping to read it soon. Terry Maitland seems like a nice guy, but is he wearing another face? When the answer comes, it will shock you as only Stephen King can. As the investigation expands and horrifying answers begin to emerge, King’s propulsive story kicks into high gear, generating strong tension and almost unbearable suspense. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City’s most popular citizens. An eleven-year-old boy’s violated corpse is found in a town park. At a time when the King brand has never been stronger, he has delivered one of his most unsettling and compulsively readable stories. If you're not familiar with the story yet, here's the book description: An unspeakable crime. With him on board, you know that this series has a solid chance of being great. He is best known for his work on HBO's The Wire and The Night Of. MRC, who is also a part of The Dark Tower adaptation, is planning a 10-episode limited series adaptation, and they have hired Richard Price to write it.

King's work is really hot right now and there are a ton of projects in development based on his stories. Media Rights Capital wasted no time in snatching up the right to Stephen King's latest novel The Outsider.
